This is my entry for the History of Hyrule anniversary contest (thehistoryofhyrule.deviantart.…, finished just in time with a day to spare! It's been so much work, lots of obstacles and pain lol. But so, so worth it!
Largest painting I've done in a while, one of the biggest pieces I've ever done, and the first painting I've done in two years too! Bad artist is bad. Thank you so much for the push Mal, with out you I'd have never done anything as good or awesome as this!

This is a depiction of the war/battle before Skyward sword with the goddess and the remaining land races facing the armies of Demise. I used a little artistic license to make the demon forces look bigger and stronger by including a few of Ghirahim's concept designs as other Demon Lords, as well, Batreaux. Largely inspired by this article and what it said about him(www.zeldadungeon.net/2012/09/t…. Notice the date on it? That's about how long I've been working on this piece, from planning, concept sketches and doodles to the finale painting. As you can see I skipped any Link/champion in this, he may have been in the manga but only vaguely mentioned in the game. Seem too much to try it fit someone in as that role, and the manga expanded his part/importance by taking away from Hylia making her more... *!!spoilers!!* just another Zelda, not a powerful Goddess fighting a Demon Lord. So I didn't go for a cheep Zelda/Hylia design either like the manga, sure she is pretty but didn't look like a Goddess to me at all.*end spoilers* I used in-game depictions of her as the base. All the carvings look like there was a lot of feather and her role seemed to reflect a bird goddess, Loftwings, her crest. Also in the opening she had a halo thing and seemed to be very tall. So there you go, my Hylia design. I also used Fi as inspiration and used more of her colors then the classic Zelda pink.

Wonderful work everyone, we are all winners for being apart of this! Can't wait to see the winners, so many wonderful entries, the calender is going to be gorgeous!
