This is more of a rant today I think.
I'm just getting a little peeved with all those people who watermark every single artwork they do, and I don't mean in a subtle way I mean in that all-over-the-whole-darn-artwork kind of way. You upload your pics on dA so that people can enjoy it, but then you slap a watermark on it that ultimately lessens said enjoyment. I'm all for preventing art theft, but darnit, I hate it when I'm trying to check out an artwork in its entirety but there's a big, fat blotch of a watermark throwing off the balance of the composition and making me have to squint to see details behind it.
Note to those watermarking people: It's easier than you think to edit out a watermark. And art theft usually occurs via copying and redrawing, so 99% of the time, your watermark counts for nothing anyway.
I say, pop your dA address or name or website somewhere subtle or colour it to match the artwork. You do artwork for an audience, so make sure they can enj
